Game Descriptions
As you will see, most games are 'no experience required'. They run in between 2 1/2 and 4 hours, not much longer than you'd spend playing online bingo. All of the games are 'just show up', meaning you aren't required to bring anything in order to play. Take a look at the list below, we think you'll find there's something for everyone.
D&D - Ben Tiller
Setting: Fantasy
System: (no experience required) D&D
Materials: (5 players) Pre-generated characters and dice will be provided – just show up!
Playtime: About 3-4 hours
D&D – Pete Mitchel
Setting: Fantasy
System: (no experience required) D&D
Materials: (5 players) Pre-generated characters and dice will be provided – just show up!
Playtime: About 3-4 hours
Technoglogical Horror Gaming – Justin Margulski
Setting: Unique
System: (no experience required) Cold City
Materials: (5 players) Pre-generated characters and dice will be provided – just show up!
Playtime: About 3-4 hours
A technoglogical horror game in which the PCs are agents from different governments trying to work together to stop tranformative technologies from changing (destroying) the world or the nature of humanity. The trick of it is that none of the players know which other PCs they can trust, since there are reasons for the PCs to work together and for the PCs to betray each other.
Space Pirates – Justin Margulski
Setting: Unique
System: (no experience required) PDQ (Prose Descriptive Quality, Sharp)
Materials: (5 players) Pre-generated characters and dice will be provided – just show up!
Playtime: About 3-4 hours
A space pirate game, a la the 1984 film, Ice Pirates. It's really silly. Using the PDQ# (Prose Descriptive Quality, Sharp) which is the normal PDQ system modified slightly for more swashbuckling game play, duels are more interesting to run, one hero can hold off a horde of simple guardsmen, chase scenes are fast and exciting, etc.
Alternate Reality Corp Modules – Stephen Thompson
Setting: Torchwood / Doctor Who-inspired
System: (no experience required) Modified World of Darkness.
Materials: (5 players) Pre-generated characters and dice will be provided – just show up!
Playtime: About 2 ½ hours
Enter a Torchwood/Doctor Who-inspired setting where alien criminals use stolen technology to tear portals between our Earth and an alternate Earth where aliens made contact with humanity 200 years ago, shared their knowledge and brought humanity into the Galactic Union (GU). The GU scientists predict the inter-dimensional border pressure caused by transferring dense matter or living bioenergy between realities will trigger a new Big Bang, destroying us all. To prevent this, they've set up the Alternate Reality Corps (ARC) as a top-secret, international, counter-alien, cell-based strike force based in our reality and focused on stopping inter-dimensional crime and immigration while keeping the existence of aliens, the alternate Earth, and the dimensional border secret from the general populace.
1. Undead and Under-Appreciated: Commander Chase and her team of misfits have had a break coming for a while—and while tickets for the Black Sheba concert cost a fortune, it’s nothing but the best for the team after their latest mission. And honestly, who wouldn’t pay through the nose for a night of dancing, drinking...and dozens of flesh eating zombies from backstage?
2. Before, After, and Mostly In-Between: When something goes wrong with the equipment in the ARC lab—especially when an explosion is involved—something goes wrong. Join the team in a time-hopping tale told with a...flexible sense of chronology as they trace a winding course through the past 8 hours in an attempt to escape a temporal loop.
Gothic Rock – Stephen Thompson
Setting: Emo Josie and the Pussycats meets Gem – if she were a drag queen.
System: (no experience required) Modified World of Darkness.
Materials: (5 Players) Pre-generated characters and dice will be provided – just show up!
Playtime: About 2 ½ hours
If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if Josie were a weretiger and the Pussycats were an assortment of rejects from White Wolf’s World of Darkness, or you just wanted to see a bunch of goth kids get beaten up by drag queens, look no farther! After a typo dubbed them Gothic Frock in a prominent southern newspaper, the band arrives for their latest booking in fabulous Athens, GA - unknowingly scheduled to perform at a drag queen pageant. Join our emo anti-heroes in a camp-filled romp through a deadly world of go-go boy assassins, disco ball transformers, and revenge-driven divas in entirely too much makeup.
